The Wu-Tang Clan will reportedly reunite for the mid-April California concert series.

2 Chainz and his G.O.O.D. Music affiliate Pusha T are among those set to take the stage at the two-weekend festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif., on April 12-14 and April 19-21. Odd Future’s elusive member Earl Sweatshirt will play his first solo gig, while a reunited Wu-Tang Clan closes things out on Sunday. They share the bill with other acts including Janelle Monáe, Jurassic 5, Danny Brown, Jessie Ware, Major Lazer, Benny Benassi, and Theophilus London. (Rap-Up)

Tickets for this year’s multi-day event will go on sale early next week.

The Stone Roses, Blur, Phoenix, and Red Hot Chili Peppers will top the bill at Coachella 2013, the festival’s organizers revealed today. But even more headlines come below headliner level with the Postal Service reunion and the return of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. This year’s double-weekend showcase is scheduled for April 12 to 14 and April 19 to 21; festival passes, which are good for three days’ admission, go on sale January 29 at 10 a.m. PT. (SPIN)

Since 1999, Coachella has provided a platform for commercial artists to get their music out to fans.

Coachella is considered the start of the annual summer festival season and has positioned itself as one of the premier music events in the country. But the festival market is a crowded one. This week New York City’s June Governor’s Ball revealed a lineup that includes much Coachella overlap, including Grizzly Bear, the xx, the Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men and Local Natives. Coachella launched in October 1999 and has been staged in the spring annually since 2001. In 2007, it was joined by Stagecoach. (Los Angeles Times)

Back in April 2012, West Coast rap moguls Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg raised the bar with a hologram 2Pac performance.

Last year Coachella was headlined by the Black Keys, Radiohead and a special performance from Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, which saw Tupac Shakur appear as a hologram. Coachella has been held in the desert near Palm Springs since its 1999 inception. The festival recently staged a mini-festival on a cruise ship. The 2013 festival takes place on 12-14 April and 19-21 April. (The Guardian)
