The new track premiered online and will officially be available for purchase next week.

R&B newcomer Jo’zzy makes her formal introduction with some help from veterans Timbaland and Ma$e. The self-proclaimed “singer disguised as a rapper,” who hails from Memphis, crafts a new anthem for all the independent women, who don’t need a man to take care of themselves. Produced by Wizz Dumb, the ’90s throwback joint features ad libs from Timbo and a verse from the Harlem OG. “I don’t need him / He needs me more,” sings Jo’zzy, who has worked with Missy Elliott, Teyana Taylor, and Agnez Mo. Details of Ma$e’s divorce settlement emerged in early June.

As we first reported, Mase and Twyla Betha pulled the plug on their marriage back in April — after several false starts — with both sides wanting physical custody of their two kids … but Mase caved. Mase won’t be a stranger to his kids … he gets “reasonable visitation” of up to three hours a day as long as he gives 12 hours advance notice. Mase was ordered to fork over $6,000/month for child and spousal support. For her part Twyla must return ALL of Mase’s musical equipment. (TMZ)

Days away from New Year’s Eve, Betha unleashed his “Why Can’t We” song.

After a lengthy hiatus from the music, Ma$e has released a new song called “Why Can’t We.” He shouts out Drake and Kanye West in the beginning the song, acknowledging the fact that both artists are huge fans of his style. He then proceeds to spit two verses with references ranging from 2Pac to Toni Kukoc. “Why Can’t We” is a smooth, signature Ma$e song with female vocals that are currently credited to “Her.” The song will appear on the Harlemite’s upcoming project, Now We Even. In October, he resorted to his Instagram page to break the news of a follow-up project to 2004’s Welcome Back LP.

“No abbreviations use #NOWWEEVEN that’s the only conversation I’m having. y€$ #NOWWEEVEN is the album title… Lets make it happen!!! Right now I’m listening to all my early freestyles & songs… This got to be something special. A couple free shows & visits #NOWWEEVEN.
