Hollywood veteran Will Smith has reportedly lost his father this week. The iconic actor’s ex-wife Sheree Fletcher broke the news to fans on social media.
Fletcher went to Instagram Monday (November 7) with the heart-shattering announcement.
In the past, Smith has called his father a positive figure.
“Dad was tough but not tyrannical. He kept me in line. He’d get this look that said, ‘One more step, Will, and it’ll get ugly.’ He was an independent businessman — he set up refrigeration in supermarkets — and he always provided for us. He’s a steady and positive figure in my life.” (Essence Magazine)
Fletcher and Smith split up in the mid-90’s and have one child together.
The Suicide Squad actor and Fletcher were married from 1992 to 1995 and welcomed Trey, now 23, in November 1992. Smith is also dad of son Jaden Smith, 18, and daughter Willow Smith, 16, with wife Jada Pinkett Smith. The couple have been married since 1997. (Us Weekly)
