The Black Eyed Peas‘ frontman Will.I.Am and his manager have reportedly been accused of physically assaulting celebrity blogger Perez Hilton over the weekend at the MuchMusic Awards in Canada.
Hilton resorted to his Twitter account to speak on the alleged attack.
“I’m in shock,” he wrote. “I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitian Hotel now. Please…I was assaulted by Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.” (Perez Hilton’s Twitter)
Will.i.am responded shortly afterward by launching video responses where he said Hilton disrespected group member Fergie.
“It’s one thing to tell your opinion and it’s another thing to just go overboard and just be blatantly rude for no apparent reason,” Will explained. “I was the one that came to him with respect, and he was the one who called me a f*ggot outside the club…Sounds like somebody wants mad attention and is not really concerned about his health…Shame on you, shame on your behavior, and that’s just messed up.” (New York Daily News)
According to reports, Black Eyed Peas’ manager Polo Molina is being held by authorities.
We’re told there’s a reason Polo Molina, the general manager of the Black Eyed Peas, turned himself in. Sources tell us Toronto cops said they would not let any of the Peas out of the country unless they got their man. The Peas are on tour, so being locked in Toronto would have created big problems. Perez Hilton claims Molina beat him in the eye last night, after the MuchMusic Awards. Molina has been charged with assault. We’re also told Perez plans on pressing the case. (TMZ)
In the past, Hilton has had conflicts with many artists including a “Twitter beef” earlier this year with N.O.R.E.
“@perezhilton do you know who I am, b*tch,” Nore wrote. “Random customer at Fatburger: a fat drunk half-puertorican reggaeton dancer? My twitter is for str8 people who dont wear wigs.” (Nore’s Twitter)
Aside from legal accusations, the singer’s new group album debuted atop the charts last week.
The Black Eyed Peas made their long-awaited return to the charts this week landing No. 1 with E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies). According to Nielsen Soundscan, the pop group’s latest disc sold 304,500 copies after seven days in stores. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
No further information on the alleged assault has been released.
