Former Fugees leader Wyclef Jean has shown some political interest in former 2008 vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin by co-signing her swag.

Admitting he has received criticism for the co-sign, Clef said Palin ultimately has good intentions.

“I am a huge fan of Sarah Palin, because she’s rad. She’s shrewd. She’s cool. Because at the end of the day, I’m for the people,” Jean said “I’m not saying she could be the next president, you know, but there’s something about her. Heavy debates in my house. Whenever I say Sarah Palin, people think I’m crazy, but I like her, I do. I can like whoever. This is America, right?” (Global Grind)

After dropping “Better With The Lights Off” last spring, New Boyz’s Ben J said Palin is one woman he would have a one-on-one relationship with.

Amber Rose, I gotta have the lights on,” Ben J added. “Lights on for Amber Rose of course. Sarah Palin? Oh man, I think for her I’d have to do it with the lights off.” (SOHH)

Last May, Palin addressed being labeled anti-rap after blasting rapper Common for getting invited to the White House for a poetry event.

“It’s too easy, you know, the White House’s judgement on inviting someone who has glorified cop killing during Police Memorial Week of all times, the judgement is just so lacking of class and decency and all that’s good for America with an invite like this,” Palin explained. “It’s just so easy to assume they’re just inviting someone like me or somebody else to ask. Come on, [President] Barack Obama, who are you plowing around now? … I’m not saying this as a proponent of stifling any kind of free speech, I’m obviously a proponent of free speech. I’m not anti-rap, in fact, like [Fox News anchor] Bret Baier, I know the lyrics to ‘Rappers’ Delight’ too. But I’m just saying, common decency in the White House. Wouldn’t we like to see a reflection of all that is wonderful and great? A shining city on a hill that the White House is supposed to be with events inside of that house that is supposed to reflect the patriotism and decency and the influence of America.” (“On The Record”)

This week, Palin made headlines for allegedly having a one-night sexual encounter with former NBA star Glen Rice.

A Palin biography by Joe McGinniss claims that the former Vice Presidential hopeful had a one-night stand back in 1987 with Rice, a then-University of Michigan star, who was playing in the Great Alaska Shootout. Palin, working as a television sports reporter at the time, was described by a friend as the aggressor, who told McGinniss “she hauled his a** down,” the National Enquirer reported. (Houston Press)
