“Whenever 50 Cent Needs Me, I’m There”

After the impact Lloyd and 50 Cent's "Let's Get It In" had last year, SOHH hit up the former Murder Inc. star to find out why their collaboration did not make his new King of Hearts album.

While the record was a smash, Lloyd said he intentionally made it an exclusive digital track.

“I released ‘Let’s Get It In’ for digital-only,” Lloyd told SOHH when asked why the hit did not make his album. “So you can purchase it on iTunes and it was just a song me and 50 made at the time. We just felt creative and it was something I wanted to make for the deejays, the clubs and for the streets. You can get it on iTunes. It’s the same way with the remixes to ‘Lay It Down’ with Patti Labelle, R. Kelly, Young Jeezy and there’s one with B.o.B. I released those online instead of the album for iTunes. Whenever 50 needs me, I’m there.” (SOHH)

The duo’s track dropped unexpectedly last September.

Lloyd gets it poppin’ on his 50 Cent-assisted joint “Let’s Get It In,” the second single from the crooner’s Zone 4/Interscope Records debut King of Hearts. The Polow Da Don-produced track boasts a moody, electronic beat with Lloyd coaxing a girl to leave the club with him and head back to his crib for a night of intimacy. “It’s featuring someone who I always really wanted to work with,” Mr. Low Fade, Still Paid previously told Rap-Up.com of the single. “It’s very controversial. It’s gonna be awesome. It’s gonna be the sh*t.” (Rap-Up)

In 2010, Lloyd talked about working with G-Unit’s Lloyd Banks for their “Any Girl” record despite their camps’ past beefs.

According to Lloyd, he would have never been able to work with an artist like Lloyd Banks, due to the ongoing feud between 50 Cent’s G-Unit and Irv Gotti‘s Murder Inc. collective of artists. “There was no hesitation on my part because we never had direct issues,” Lloyd said of his collaboration with Lloyd Banks. “We met for the first time in the studio and everything just clicked. It felt like it was our 10th song together.” (All Hip Hop)

The singer’s Interscope Records debut landed on the sales chart this week.

R&B singer Lloyd’s King of Hearts debuted on the chart this week at No. 10. After seven days on store shelves, the former Murder Inc. crooner’s Interscope debut has sold 26,400 records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
