Southern rapper Webbie may be able to relax a bit more these days as an alleged female victim has stepped forward to downplay their physical altercation which resulted in him getting arrested earlier this week.

According to the victim, Webbie never pushed her down a flight of stars but did use physical force.

The woman — who claims she and Webbie are dating, but it’s “rocky” — says the two of them got into a verbal argument, which turned physical — but not in the way the police report said. She says Webbie NEVER kicked her down the stairs — instead she claims he pushed her out of his hotel room and then she “stumbled” down the stairs, but was not injured. She also says the rapper didn’t rob her … the $340 he swiped from her purse was his money to begin with (which is what Webbie told us in the first place). She adds, “I am not mad at Webbie. Both of us are at fault for taking the argument too far.” (TMZ)

A couple days ago, Webbie also hinted at false stories getting reported.

“@OfficialWebbie already out of jail and that woman stole from him so don’t start no dumb ass rumors about him beating up women #Salute,” Webbie re-tweeted September 13. (Webbie’s Twitter)

The alleged female victim also released a statement through her attorney downplaying the reports.

“Contrary to recent media reports and what can only be described as an exaggeration of actual events, “Webbie” (Webster Gradney, Jr.) did not “brutally” attack my client and, fortunately,my client did not suffer injury requiring medical attention. The “robbery” was unfortunately a non-malicious attempt, by the accused, to deny the woman resources he had given her to leave the city, via air transportation, following their domestic argument. The accused did not “meet” my client at a party but rather they had been residing together, off and on, for more than 18 months. Though a rocky relationship, my client and Mr. Gradney spent the evening together after being separated briefly. The early morning assault is domestic related and should be treated as such. While neither my client nor I condone acts of violence, especially domestic, we will not conspire with the media or officials to paint an inaccurate picture of Mr. Gradney or the events. We will not conspire with anyone to deliberately destroy Mr. Gradney’s reputation, life and/or career. Neither my client nor this case should be used as a tool to send another “black rapper” to prison for any other case or charge that is unrelated to these events. Both parties want nothing more than to move beyond this matter. It’s an unfortunate situation and myclient will, however, cooperate with officials as required by law. [sic]” (HHDX)

Details of the rapper’s arrest hit the Internet Thursday afternoon.

Rapper Webbie has been arrested for battery and robbery — after allegedly kicking a woman down a flight of stairs and filching $340 from her pocketbook … but Web tells us, none of it’s true. According to a police report filed in Baton Rouge, LA, Webbie is accused of attacking a woman inside a Chase Suite Hotel early this morning after being banned from the premises — kicking her down two sets of stairs before swiping her purse and stealing $340 in cash. The details surrounding the altercation are unclear. (TMZ)
