Grammy-winning singer Ne-Yo has confirmed reports claiming Fabolous is looking to link up for a full-length Best of Both Words-type album in the future.
While slightly brief with his words, Ne-Yo expressed an interest to hit the studio.
“We have been talking about getting in, trying to do kind of a Best of Both Worlds-type vibe situation,” Ne-Yo said, referring to 2002’s joint album from Jay-Z and R. Kelly. “It’s just something about his voice and my voice that makes sense together. We been kicking ideas around and I can’t say exactly when to look for it, but definitely look for it. Keep your eyes peeled, we’ll be out there.” (MTV)
Last month, Fab promised the LP could see the light of day sometime this year.
“I think this year too I might be doing this project with Ne-Yo finally,” he told XXL. “We’ve been in talks for a minute. It’s really sounding like it’s gonna get done. Ne-Yo is really hyped about it. I just fell back on it, but now I see the wheels are turning a little bit. I think we need that for the game. Some of the allure from the game is gone. You see people doing less numbers, so now let’s do some vanity projects where people are collaborating together.” (XXL Mag)
In August 2009, Fab revealed his intent to link with Ne-Yo for a duet album.
“I’m looking to do a project later in the year with Ne-Yo which would be kinda like a Best of Both Worlds project that we’ve been talking about putting together. Musically, I just want to grow in that way, and of course introduce some new talented guys that I’ve been working with…” (The Boom Box)
When asked to name his Top 5 favorite R&B collabos last September, Fab included his 2007 Ne-Yo smash hit, “Make Me Better.”
1) Method Man Feat. Mary J. Blige, “I’ll Be There For You/You’re All That I Need To Get By” 2) Nas Feat. Lauryn Hill, “If I Ruled the World” 3) DMX Feat. Sisqo, “What These B*tches Want” 4) Fabolous Feat. Tamia, “So Into You” 5) Fabolous Feat. Ne-Yo, “Make Me Better” (VIBE)
