While details are still sketchy, Wale’s single is slated to land online next week.

No stranger to what goes on on the Internet, Maybach Music’s own Wale took it to the NikeTalk forum to announce he has a single coming next week. No more details were revealed, but Rick Ross and Wale are planning to drop an album by the end of the year. Stay tuned for more next week. (Complex)

Additional reports claim his full length project will hit retail outlets by early fall.

Wale has announced via #NT that his sophomore album – and his Warner Bros. solo debut – is set to be released on September 27th. This follows the news that he’ll be releasing a buzz single for that album some time next week to let you know he’s on that solo grind. I am genuinely interested in hearing what kind of sound Wale will bring to the table with the new album. Will he stick with that hard hitting Rick Ross music we’ve been hearing, or switch it up in to his solo DC mode with thoughtful rhymes and clever lyrics? (The Hip Hop Update)

A few weeks ago, Wale hinted at plans to drop two albums between this year and 2012.

“It’s a lot of drive, it’s a lot of hunger, it’s a lot of the things that I wasn’t good at explaining the first time around,” he explains, “The messages are getting’ across a lot cleaner, so I’m very, very proud of the music I’ve been putting out for this new project.” (MTV)

Wale’s 2009 debut, Attention: Deficit, landed on the sales chart just outside of Top 20.

Rap newcomer Wale’s long-awaited Attention: Deficit landed on the chart this week debuting at No. 21. After seven days on store shelves, the rapper’s new album shelled out 28,300 copies. (SOHH Sales Wrap)

No further details have been revealed as of now.
