Southern rapper Waka Flocka Flame has become the latest celebrity to weigh in on Rick Ross‘ publicized seizures last week and what impact his passing would have on the rap game.
Flocka believes the rap game would be severely damaged without Ricky Rozay’s presence.
“My thoughts on that situation, you gotta watch your health,” Waka said. “Watch what you take in your body; that’s it. I hope he gets well. I hope sh*t like that never happens. That’s a powerful person in hip-hop. We lose Ross, there is gonna be a gap. Ain’t too many people who can go hard like him. You probably haven’t heard a wack song from Ross in three or four years. Every verse he came out with, hard as f*ck!” (XXL Mag)
Ross’ ex-girlfriend/actress Elise Neal has placed the blame on Def Jam for overworking him.
“I think they’re [his record label] pushing him too hard,” Elise tells RumorFix. “I know he’s very career driven, but I don’t think they take enough time to care about what they’re doing to his body. They don’t think about him or his health, pushing him to do all these videos, pushing tours and shows. He is not 20 years old anymore — no one seems to care about him really or overall his health…If you have a medical emergency … if you have the people who are closest around you saying ‘You’re alright’ — you’re going to be more apt to say ‘I’m alright.'” (RumorFix)
Miami’s DJ Khaled has promised to stick by the “Boss'” side as he recovers from two seizures.
“I am not leaving his side. He is resting, he is chilling and he is actually super focused. He is at the crib and is going to rest and just chill until he gets his energy back. He is going to take everything one day by day,” Khaled said in an interview. “I told him he has to stay home for two weeks. I told him he has got to just chill and reIax. I told him he is a big enough star that he can just stay home. His life is more important…When he went in the hospital that was a reality check. I’m trying to tell him, but he’s telling me, ‘Khaled you ain’t got to tell me no more, I understand clearly I got to take my life seriously.'” (Global Grind)
Ross has reportedly chosen ground travel after experiencing his first seizure aboard a plane last week.
No more emergency landings … for now — TMZ has learned Rick Ross will be traveling back home to Atlanta on his friend’s bada** tour bus … after suffering two in-flight seizures last week. Ross — who was hospitalized in Alabama Friday — was picked up by his friend DJ Khaled … who transported him to Memphis in his luxury tour bus for the opening of a chicken wing joint last night. Sources close to Ross tell us … Khaled has offered to take Ross back to Atlanta in the bus, so he won’t have to risk another in-flight emergency. (TMZ)
