Flocka also responded to possible criticism he may receive for adapting Pac’s “Makaveli” moniker for his album title.

“I apologize to Tupac fans if they think I’m using Tupac to sell records,” Waka told SOHH. “I’m not. Tupac is the reason why I really made Flockaveli. It’s because of the story of . You know what I’m saying? And at the time right now, I’m gonna sum it all up, Makaveli had his back up against the wall, he felt like people were out to get him. You know what I’m saying? It’s how he felt. At the time I was making my album, that’s how I felt. And that’s what was going on. I was going through bad press, bad time, everything.” (SOHH)

Last month, Waka detailed how much inspiration Pac had on his life.

“I was definitely inspired by Pac a while lot growing up, so people are definitely going to get to know me on a personal level,” Flocka said in an interview. “It’s really just my introduction to the world. I can’t tell my story whole story until I got people’s ears. Out of the 15 or 16 songs that are going to make the album, Lex Luger probably did 12 of them. That’s my Dr. Dre… and I’m his Snoop [Laughs]. He’s the new sound of Hip-Hop. You ask anyone who needs a hit and Lex will come up in their conversation, guaranteed.” (VIBE)

His debut will feature guest collaborations from Uncle Murda, Wale and Gudda Gudda.

Waka also recently talked with SOHH about his “O Let’s Do It” single earning him one of two BET Hip-Hop Awards nominations.

“[Being nominated for] the ‘Club Banger’ was not a surprise,” Waka added referring to his ‘O Let’s Do It’ smash hit. “I knew ain’t nobody go harder than me. I’ll get arrogant about that. I’ll admit that. But for ‘Rookie of the Year?’ Man. That’s something. I think that shows me, that shows myself right there. It shows that Waka is really working. Sometimes I feel like I don’t be doing enough so that right there, I like that right there. I’ll be at BET [for the awards].” (SOHH)

Waka Flocka Flame’s Flockaveli is scheduled to drop Tuesday, October 5th.
