Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame has no plans of calling a truce with former mentor Gucci Mane but recently admitted he still has love for the locked up music executive. #iheartyou
Even though they engaged in a public fallout, Flocka said he does not have hatred for Mane.
“Nah, that’s over,” Waka said when asked if he would ever get back together with Gucci Mane. “I still got love for Gucci Mane. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t watch no n*gga put their hands on him in front of me. You gotta know I’m Pete Rose’ing you my n*gga. I’m not gonna give the young boys no OK’s or nothing. I’m coming off of my hip if it gets to that level. But at the end of the day, I’m good my n*gga. I’m aight. I control my situation. I don’t need him.” (“Whooly Shuffle”)
When asked about Gucci last January, Flocka simply disassociated himself from the 1017 Brick Squad leader.
“It’s over for him. The only thing Gucci I wear is the clothing line. Like as a friend, it’s over. For me to risk my life, give my life, give my loyalty, give my friendship, to see somebody treat it like it was some ink on a paper? Nah,” Waka said in an interview. “I’m super big on loyalty, but me and Gucci separated our differences like a year and a half ago, like signed from each other. I just felt like I wasn’t going to be the one to come out. I feel like me and him got two different outlooks. I want to be a successful Forbes List man. I don’t want to be a successful hood n*gga. Three people in my family graduated. I’m trying to break that chain. I just want to be different. I can’t be strung out on XYZ drugs. I just can’t do it.” (WKYS)
Last fall, Waka said Gucci was the one responsible for exposing the public to their behind-the-scenes feud.
“Man, I been got out of a contract with Gucci. Me and him fell out 2012, but we kept it in house. He the person that spilled the beans,” Flocka revealed in an interview. “I feel like it’s a gimmick – ain’t nothing crazy about him.” (Hot 107.9)
A few weeks prior, Flocka released a diss track directed at his former partner.
Following their public blowout and Gucci’s subsequent meltdown on Twitter, Waka Flocka Flame goes on the record with his Gucci Mane diss “Ice Cream.” Over the 808 Mafia production, he calls out his former Brick Squad boss and lean-addicted rappers (“Ni**as sip codeine like it’s lemonade”), while professing his realness. “I been a real ni**a since second grade/ And when I met Gucci, thought I met a real ni**a/ Until he crossed the line and he became a f*ck ni**a,” raps Waka.
