Hours after being arrested in North Carolina on a drug possession charge, rapper Wiz Khalifa has come forward to confirm he has since been released.

Writing via Twitter, Khalifa confirmed spending time behind bars.

Wiz’s jail woes caught the attention of rap star Snoop Dogg.

Details on Wiz’s arrest hit the Internet earlier today.

Buzzing rapper, Wiz Khalifa was arrested for the possession of marijuana. During the morning early hours of Tuesday, he was arrested when he made an attempt to board his touring bus. This happened after he finished his show at East Carolina University. Many American websites reported that the 23-year-old rapper was charged in Greenville, North Carolina. (MJB News Online)

Additional information on the charges also circulated online today.

The “Black and Yellow” rapper was charged with a felony count of trafficking in marijuana, a felony count of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle/place for sale or storage of marijuana and one misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Nine other people were arrested along with Khalifa on the same charges and were still in jail at press time. (MTV)

Wiz Khalifa was reportedly released on a $300,000 bond.
