Usher‘s wife, Tameka Foster-Raymond, has been released from a Brazil hospital after nearly two weeks of recovering from an ill-fated liposuction surgery in Brazil.
Foster was reportedly allowed to leave the hospital Tuesday (February 16) night.
The R&B star’s wife, Tameka Raymond, was released from Sao Paulo’s Sirio-Libanes Hospital Tuesday evening after spending 11 days recuperating from surgery. “She checked out yesterday,” a spokesman for the hospital, speaking as always on condition of anonymity. (E! News)
She was initially in Brazil to undergo a simple medical operation.
Ellen Dastry, a spokeswoman for the doctor who was to perform the plastic surgery, said last week that Raymond suffered a cardiac arrest while being anesthetized ahead of a “simple liposuction” at Sao Paulo’s Sao Rafael Hospital. (Associated Press)
Following the cardiac arrest, Tameka was then placed into a coma.
“When an attack like this happens, the doctors put the patient to sleep… and make sure that everything is okay and that there has not been any damage,” explains Dasptry. “This is the protocol every time and this is what was done.” (People)
The incident forced Usher to miss his scheduled Grammy appearance in Los Angeles.
