Hankerson revealed an unreleased Missy/Aaliyah track will be on the forthcoming project.

While the album is in the early stages, Hankerson confirms that Timbaland and Missy Elliott will participate in assembling the LP. “Timbaland will be involved with this project. One of the records that we had that was never released was a Missy record that we obviously are going to be refreshing,” says Hankerson, who did not clarify if Timbaland has already produced songs for the project. “This record [‘Enough Said’] really kind of came sooner than we thought it was going to come, so it’s really the beginning of the creative process for us. We’ve got a record out while we’re still creating the project. A lot of that is still up in the air, but I can tell you that Timbaland will definitely be involved, Missy will definitely be involved.” Timbaland declined to comment for this story, while Elliott did not respond to Billboard.biz’s request as of press time. This week, Young Money’s Drake broke his silence on the speculated LP.

“People should be really excited. People thought it was my single; it’s not my single. It’s all off of an Aaliyah project that me and 40 are commanding and 40’s just doing some incredible, some incredible music right now,” Drake revealed in an interview. “To get 13, 14 new Aaliyah songs, everybody should be excited. It’s not about me. It’s not about 40. It’s about her and her fans and us just getting the opportunity to give you something that we feel is great. And the people around her, everybody from her family to her old management and label, were like, ‘If there’s anyone out that can do it right now, it’s [you] and 40.’ And that was an honor and we’re going to pull in some classic people, anybody who used to work with Aaliyah that was essential in her career we definitely hope to have them involved. So it’s great. You get a new Aaliyah album this year on top of everything.” (Much Music)

Prior to his announcement, the late R&B crooner’s brother denied any family members being behind the project.

Aaliyah’s family have denied any involvement in her new posthumous album, which is being spearheaded by Drake. “There is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family,” announced the late singer’s brother, Rashad Haughton. (The Guardian)

A few days ago, gossip and details associated to the LP surfaced online.

According to our source, “Enough Said” was released by Aaliyah’s own label, Blackground Records, which is run by her uncle Barry Hankerson. The song wasn’t leaked by Drake. As for how involved Drake is, I’m hearing he’s only on one song right now. But that Noah “40” Shebib is producing a majority of the tracks. I’m actually looking forward to what 40 does with these unreleased vocals. His sound seems like a good match. But for all the fans who cant imagine a Aaliyah project without the input of Timbaland and Missy Elliott…great news! I’m hearing that Tim is getting involved. So far I’m hearing he’s producing 2 songs. Hopefully there will be more and Missy will be in there too! Timbaland recent told me that he and Missy are already done recording their joint album.
