New York rapper Mysonne has stepped forward to clear the air on what really went down between himself and Trinidad James in light of a photo of them facing-off surfacing online this week.

Despite the speculation, Mysonne denied their one-on-one discussion turning violent.

“We all heard the comments he made in Brooklyn, at the show, and I was devastated,” Mysonne said in an interview. “We spoke as men. My thing was this, you know, my whole position in the whole situation was, listen, you do not walk into someone’s house and disrespect them with ‘your’ truth because it’s n*ggas that’s willing to die for this. If that’s not your intentions, you don’t do that. … I kept telling him, ‘You can’t keep telling people that that’s the truth. You can’t keep saying that saying you’re making an apology.'” (VLAD TV)

Initial reports revealed the incident took place over the weekend in New York.

Atlanta rapper Trinidad James was confronted in New York City over the weekend by resident emcee, Mysonne … and according to some, things didn’t end well for James during the encounter. Trinidad made the mistake earlier this year of going on a rant dissing NY’s rap scene, saying the city’s bloggers are more popular than its rappers. The only thing more outrageous than that claim was that it took place during a performance in The Big Apple. Mysonne took exception to the remarks, making a diss video called, “All Gold Robbery” … and when he caught up with James this weekend, he allegedly slapped him. (Hip Hollywood)

Mysonne jumped onto his Twitter page this week to briefly speak out on what went down.

HipHollywood has obtained this image of the men facing off inside a Manhattan building, but have not been able to confirm if the two did come to blows. Mysonne has since taken to Twitter to address the feud, making it clear he’s not a fan of colorful gold tooth rapper. “My n*gga, its all about respect. Show me where a NY n*gga went somewhere and down talked that place. The difference between me and most these n*ggas is I’m willing to die for my beliefs, for what I stand for. I ain’t just talking … You talking bout industry sh*t, I’m talking in the street sh*t … big difference.” (Hip Hollywood)

Last month, audio from New York rapper Maino and James discussing jabs he made about the New York rap scene bubbled online.

“What you saying now is different from what you was saying on stage. I studied that whole thing loud and clear, my n*gga. When you said ‘Yo, we run y’all musically and I ain’t trying to start nothing, but if you want to do something we can do it because I don’t give a f*ck.’ You took away from whatever your opinion was. Whatever your opinion was, you unvalidated it right there in that spot. You started talking some gangsta sh*t. You understand what I’m saying? Never in the history of my city has a n*gga step foot on a New York City stage and disrespected our city like you did. Like this ain’t about me trying to be a bully or me trying to punk you or none of that. It’s about right and wrong.” (YouTube)

Coincidentally, Dipset’s Hell Rell threatened to rob James on a new track called “Lames In The Game.

The issue of Trinidad Jame$ attacking NYC and its hip-hop scene is apparently far from over. Hell Rell and Katt Williams have decided to chime in on the matter, and the two are upset about the disrespect they feel Trinidad showed the city by saying that the South “is running y’all.” In the new song, “Lames In The Game,” Rell warns the Atlanta native that he isn’t safe anywhere in the city, not even at the airport. “I got the nine, the four-five, all chrome everything/We looking to rob “All Gold Everything,” Rell says. Katt Williams comes at Trinidad with what is essentially a half-rapped, half-spoken outro. According to Katt, Trinidad’s “All Gold Everything” pales in comparison to a pimp’s “All Gold Everything.” Even though Katt’s not from New York, he’s not taking Trinidad’s disrespect lightly.
