After receiving tons of backlash, Madonna issued a full-fledged statement courtesy of her representative Liz Rosenberg.

“I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur.. I am not a racist. There’s no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention… It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white. I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression. Forgive me.” (CNN)

According to initial reports, the music diva sent shockwaves after using the offensive term to describe her son.

Madonna has a strange way of bragging about her son — she posted a pic of him boxing with the hashtag … “disni**a” … and she immediately got blasted for it. Madonna posted the photo of Rocco Ritchie on Instagram Friday night with the caption, “No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out! #disni**a.” Dirty Soap is clearly a nickname for Rocco. As for the hashtag — who the Hell knows? (TMZ)

Following some expected backlash, the 55-year-old simply re-worded her caption.

Some outraged followers ripped her for it … with comments like, “MADONNA U NEED TO TAKE UR arthritis medicine instead of trying to be hip on the internet.” #truth. 5:50 PM PT — Madonna changed the photo caption to say, “Ok let me start this again. #get off of my d*ck haters!” (TMZ)

Back in 2012, rap veteran Nas came to Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow‘s defense over her public reference to “N*ggas In Paris.”

“I would slap the s*** out of somebody for Gwyneth Paltrow,” Nas told CBS Local exclusively. “She’s the homie, she’s cool. Gwyneth gets a pass. Real people get a pass. We know what this s*** is. We don’t interrupt Italians when they say ‘Wop’ to each other. They gonna punch you in the mouth if you interrupt that. Don’t interrupt us. We pick and choose.” Nas acknowledged that other black people might feel differently, but still stood by his statement. “Some might not feel the same way,” he said. “Some of us will get angrier about it than others; but some people get a pass. The people that I know who are cool and real n****s, Gwyneth Paltrow is a real n****, that’s my homie. That’s how I’m on it. Some people get a pass.” (CBS Local)
