A day after reports scattered across the Internet about music star Ke$ha seeking professional help for an eating disorder, the latest update appears to single out the person responsible for her medical complication.
According to reports, her music producer Dr. Luke is largely responsible for contributing to her disorder.
Sources directly connected to Ke$ha tell us … it all started when the singer’s “Get Sleazy” tour ended in 2011. She says Luke — who signed Ke$ha to a deal at age 18 — started ragging on her over the extra lbs she had gained in her downtime. Ke$ha says Luke — a huge producer who has worked with Miley Cyrus and Rihanna — began calling Ke$ha fat and urged her management team to do something about it. Our sources say Ke$ha complained … during a music video shoot in 2012 Luke told her she “looks like a f***ing refrigerator” … and the singer was profoundly affected by it. (TMZ)
Buzz behind the 26-year-old pop star checking into rehab surfaced online Friday (January 3).
The Tik Tok singer said in a statement provided by her spokesman Friday that she’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days while she seeks treatment for an undisclosed eating disorder. “I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I’ve found it hard to practice,” she said. The 26-year-old vegetarian pop star said she wants to “learn to love myself again, exactly as I am.” No other details were provided. (USA Today)
Not alone in her battle, fellow singer Chris Brown received a three-month rehab sentence back in mid-November following a court appearance.
A judge ordered Chris Brown on Wednesday to spend three months in rehab after reading a report that said a facility discharged the R&B singer because he threw a rock through his mother’s car window. Superior Court Judge James Brandlin also added additional rules for Brown in the coming months, requiring him to perform at least 24 hours of community labor a week and to submit to drug testing as he deals with anger management issues. Brown and his attorney agreed to the terms, which were suggested by probation officials who are overseeing Brown’s sentence for his 2009 beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna. (USA Today)
In early November, Chicago rapper Chief Keef also received a 90-day rehab sentence.
Teen rapper Chief Keef, who has been in and out of jail multiple times this year, was ordered into a 90-day residential drug treatment program after failing two drug tests, the Cook County sheriff’s office said Wednesday. The 18-year-old, whose real name is Keith Cozart, appeared before a judge in Skokie Wednesday and was being transferred to the Cook County Jail Wednesday afternoon. (DNA Info)
