Chicago authorities have discovered the corpse of a male child that may be the missing nephew of R&B superstar Jennifer Hudson.
According to Chicago’s Sun-Times, a small body was found this morning, three days after the bodies of Hudson’s mother and brother were discovered. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office are still reviewing the corpse to confirm the identity.
As previously reported by SOHH, the singer’s seven year-old nephew, Julian King, was announced announced missing and police believe his stepfather, William Balfour, may be behind his disappearance. The city issued an Amber Alert to find the boy.
Her mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason Hudson, were discovered murdered in the family’s Chicago home on Friday. Balfour was arrested hours after the discovery and is being considered the prime suspect.
He has been childhood friends with the Hudson family and married Hudson’s sister, Julia, in 2006. Balfour also has a criminal background including pleading guilty in 1999 to attempted murder and vehicular hijacking, in which he served seven years behind bars, before being release in 2006.
Update: According to Entertainment Weekly, police have called off the amber alert for Hudson’s nephew. The child is still isted as missing until someone identifies the body.
