After weeks of cancellations from her “Rock Witchu” tour due to undisclosed health issues, reps have finally revealed what Janet Jackson has been suffering from.
According to E! Online, the R&B superstar has been diagnosed with an unusual migraine sickness that has forced her to cancel nine shows since being rushed to a hospital late last month.
“After a thorough medical evaluation, it has been confirmed that Janet’s symptoms are being caused by a rare form of migraine called vestibular migraine or migraine-associated vertigo for which she is currently receiving treatment,” a rep for Jackson said in a statement.
Expressing the singer’s frustration with having to reschedule her tour, Janet’s manager Kenneth Crear said the sickness unexpectedly continued to overcome her body.
“Janet wanted very much to resume her tour so as not to disappoint her fans, but she continued to suffer from vertigo and could not perform,” Crear told E!. “She’s a world-class entertainer and needs to be at the top of her game to giver her fans the show they expect. She’s feeling much beter and is ready to hit the road again to finish the tour.”
As previously reported by SOHH, the 42 year-old pop star canceled her last show on Monday evening in Verona, New York along with tomorrow evening’s event at NYC’s Madison Square Garden.
Originally slated to end next week, Jackson has begun rescheduling her missed tour dates including her MSG show which is currently set for Saturday, November 1. [Click here for an updated list of all the new dates ]
