UPDATE: Dipset’s Juelz Santana “Locked” Up. Rep Confirms

Dipset's Juelz Santana has reportedly been arrested and alerted his Twitter followers.

Although vague, Santana tweeted that he was “locked up” early Wednesday (August 11) morning.

A rep for the rapper has since come forward to clarify the arrest.

“Juelz Santana was arrested this AM after being pulled over in his Bentley for talking on a cell phone while driving,” Lynn K. Hobson, the Dipset member’s spokesperson, told XXLMag.com. “He was then taken into custody for driving without his license. Old warrants that had not completely cleared the system were also cleared. Juelz paid a few fines and was released immediately.” (XXL Mag)

Last year, Santana was arrested in New Jersey for allegedly attacking his girlfriend.

Teaneck police charged Santana, whose real name is LaRon James, with making terroristic threats and possessing a weapon. He’s free on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on Sept. 9. Capt. Dean Kazinci says Santana’s girlfriend told police a verbal dispute became physical Tuesday. Kazinci says the rapper told officers the woman was the aggressor and she had the knife. Police say the girlfriend, whose name was not released, had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. (Associated Press)

Shortly after the arrest, Santana’s rep released a statement clarifying previous reports of the rapper threatening his “wife.”

“Police were called to Juelz Santana’s Home in Teaneck, New Jersey at 10am after an argument between him and his son’s mother. LaRon James p/k/a Juelz Santana was then arrested and after review of the incident, police quickly released him. Santana is now back at his home.” (Miss Info)

He later hit up SOHH to speak on what really went down.

“It was no physical harm done at the end of the day,” Santana explained. “The story changed four times since I don’t know when. One minute it was my wife, one minute it was a baby mother, next minute I did this — today on MediaTakeOut they got something showing a picture of my baby mother and this is a girl I’ve never seen in my life. Then there’s a picture of me and another girl and says ‘This is the reason Juelz baby’s mama went on him.’ It just made me laugh at the end of day — it’s extremely out of proportion. I live in a complex where I get the police called on me for a lot of reasons — there’s a lot of older people with money in my complex…I did get arrested but all the other stuff in between that was like a lot of miscellaneous, fabricated, made up stories. There’s no knife involved in nothing.” (SOHH)
