Despite admitting to a probation violation, Brown’s attorney said he is not copping to the assault allegations.

Mark Geragos Tells TMZ … when Brown admitted to a probation violation Friday in the Rihanna case … it did NOT constitute a confession in his assault case. Geragos says all Brown did was admit he violated probation in D.C. — he was not more specific. Geragos tells us … HE — not Chris — conceded there was a factual basis to conclude his client violated probation based on the police report. What’s more, Geragos says there’s no way the D.C. prosecutor could use Brown’s admission as a confession, because the standard of proof in a criminal case is much higher than in a probation hearing. Details of Chris Breezy’s latest legal woe started to surface across the Internet this weekend.

Brown, 25, wore an orange jail jumpsuit and handcuffs, but he appeared to be smiling as he was led into court in Los Angeles by deputies Friday afternoon. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Brandlin immediately sentenced Brown to serve 365 days in jail for the admitted probation violation. He was given credit for serving 234 days because of the rehab and jail time, leaving 131 days left to serve. (CNN)

Breezy’s attorney said he expected to see him released in a matter of days.

“I would expect that Chris should be out of jail before the weekend’s up or before Monday,” Mark Geragos said after the hearing. “If he isn’t out by Monday, then I would expect he’s getting special treatment. He’s got over 230 days credit on a 365 (day sentence) and generally the sheriff is releasing on a lot less than that.” Friday’s admission in Los Angeles that he violated his probation by committing a crime in Washington should lead to a quick resolution of the District of Columbia assault case, Geragos said. A few days ago, Brown’s close friend Teyana Taylor said he was keeping his head up despite the tough times.

“Actually we spoke to him, me, EJ, Karrueche, we spoke to him a couple of weeks ago. He’s doing good, man. He’s in good spirits. It’s his birthday, man, he’s in there on his birthday. But, his whole spirit, like, when he get out, he gonna be good. He’s not in there bitter and harping. It is what it is. He’s becoming a better man.” (“The Breakfast Club”)
