The 18-year-old rapper is expected to appear back in court today (November 7) to find out where he will serve the sentence.

Keith Cozart, known as the rap artist Chief Keef, is back in custody after failing two drug tests and is due to appear in court today to determine where he should undergo drug treatment, officials said. A judge on Wednesday had ordered Cozart to undergo 90 days of drug treatment at the Haymarket Center, a residential treatment center on the West Side. But Cook County sheriff’s officials delayed sending him there pending a hearing today to clarify with the judge whether he intended that Cozart be housed in a facility that is not guarded, sheriff’s spokesman Ben Breit said. Details of Chief’s latest legal woes surfaced online late Wednesday (November 6).

Teen rapper Chief Keef, who has been in and out of jail multiple times this year, was ordered into a 90-day residential drug treatment program after failing two drug tests, the Cook County sheriff’s office said Wednesday. Keef won’t have time to lay down new records with the 90-day drug treatment sentence on deck.

He will likely spend at least one night in jail before being transferred to Haymarket Center, a residential drug treatment facility where he must complete a 90-day sentence, the sheriff’s office said. “In court Finna go to Jail Judge Wants to send me Back,” the rapper tweeted at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday after appearing at the Skokie Courthouse. “Judge Putting me Back in jail See y’all later” (DNA Info)

Chief was released from a jail stint a few weeks ago.

After just nine days in the Cook County Jail for failing a required drug test, the rapper known as Chief Keef was released Wednesday morning. Keith Cozart, 18, walked out of the jail at 8:55 a.m., according to Cook County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari. He had been in jail since Oct. 15, when he was ordered to jail for 20 days after testing positing for marijuana. Cozart received one day’s credit from the sentencing judge. The sheriff’s office confirmed he received another 10 days credit but could not provide further details. (Chicago Sun-Times)
