G-Unit boss 50 Cent has clarified where he stands with his bank account following bankruptcy reports Monday (July 13) afternoon.
Fif issued a statement on the situation through his attorney.
“The filing allows Mr. Jackson to reorganize his financial affairs, as he addresses various professional liabilities and takes steps to position the future of his various business interests,” says William A. Brewer III, partner at Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors, and counsel to Mr. Jackson. Mr. Jackson’s business interests will continue unaffected in the ordinary course during the pendency of the chapter 11 case. (Billboard)

TMZ has confirmed … 50 filed for bankruptcy on Monday, 3 days after Rick Ross’ baby mama won a $5 million jury verdict against him.
50 is in a world of financial hurt. A jury awarded Lavonia Leviston the $5 mil after determining the rapper intentionally leaked a sex tape in which she was featured, in order to embarrass Ross. 50 has been ordered to produce proof of income and worth so the jury can determine punitive damages. 50 started SMS Promotions back in 2012 … and signed some pretty big names in the sport, including then-undefeated champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, James Kirkland and Olympic medalist Andre Dirrell. But apparently, the boxing biz hasn’t been as kind to 50 as it has been to others like his pal Floyd Mayweather … because according to court docs obtained by TMZ Sports, the company filed for Chapter 11 on May 25th. I’m not “trying to make bankruptcy seem like a good thing.” It can be a GREAT thing to people who need to protect their assets in situations such 50 is in. Samsung didn’t file bankruptcy because their situation was different. Firstly, they they lost a patent law judgement in the US but won in other countries where they generated significant revenue. Secondly, in the US, two of the major judgements they had to pay was a total of about 1.19 billion dollars; they are a company worth 200 billion dollars and at that time was generating about 7.5 billion per *quarter* (every 3 months) in *PROFIT*; (not revenue but profit) no adviser in their right mind is going to tell them to file chapter 11. Because they absolutely didn’t have to. Their “loss” to Apple was seen as a victory in the financial world. But check this out man; I think I’ve said my piece and you’ve said yours.
