“Empire” actress Taraji P. Henson is all over Young Money stud Drake‘s new “Charged Up” song and publicly co-signed it on social media this weekend.
Henson gushed over the track’s hard-hitting lyrics on Twitter Saturday (July 25) night.
Drake’s unexpected music gem premiered via Drizzy’s Apple Music OVO Sound radio station Saturday (July 25).
“I did some charity today for the kids/But I’m used to it cause all y’all charity cases/All y’all stare in my face in hopes you could be the replacement/N*ggas snitching on us without no interrogation
I stay silent ‘cause we at war and I’m very patient/Six God is watching, I just hope you’re prepared to face him … Must I remind you that Jimmy got 20 million on it/Need DJ Clue to drop a bomb on it/None of them want this sh*t more than I want it/I seen it all coming, knew they were pushing buttons … I see you n*ggas having trouble going gold
Turning into some so and so’s that no one knows
But so it go … No woman ever had me star struck/Or was able to tell me to get my bars up/I’m charged up” (“Charged Up”)

Following the song’s release, Drake’s overnight rap rival Meek Mill appeared to address the tune on Twitter.
Drake’s producer 40 went on an epic Twitter tirade Wednesday (July 22) night to speak out on the Meek controversy.
40’s remarks came after radio personality Funkmaster Flex released an alleged reference track with Drizzy’s alleged ghostwriter.
The song is “10 Bands” … and Quentin Miller’s version is damn near identical to Drake’s. Funkmaster Flex first played it late Wednesday on NYC’s Hot 97 … throwing gasoline on the fire Meek started by accusing Drake of not writing his own raps — a HUGE insult in hip hop. Meek and a few other rappers are claiming Drake used Quentin’s take as a reference to record his final version. For what it’s worth … Miller does have credits on several Drake tracks, including “10 Bands.” (TMZ)
Meek unleashed his fury onto Twitter Tuesday (July 21) with disses aimed at Drizzy.
I thought that line was disrespectful. That should not be used as a deflect.
I dont see any disrespect. He basically saying that people out here dying and shit on some BS and instead of being worried about or taking a stand on something like that, he’d rather diss a nigga for getting a little help on a song somewhere. I cant rock with Meek on this one.
Pray tell me how often Drake has spoken on these issues since the Trayvon incvident? Show me video of him marching or rocking a “Can’t Breathe” T-Shirt. This is the same ignorant fool that said: “This a gated community you not welcome” or something like that and was given a pass by this idiotic fanbase. Drake is not who people keep making him out to be. This was a attempt at deflecting. Plain and simple.
