Fans hoping to see Odd Future’s Tyler the Creator and pop singer Bruno Mars on a track together may have to keep dreaming as the West Coast rapper has revealed his disinterest in the crooner.
In addition to reminding fans of his disliking toward Mars, Tyler also denied having any type of current beef with rapper B.o.B. despite also name-dropping him in his “Yonkers” record.
“I mean, it wasn’t really a diss on my behalf,” Tyler said referring to his jab at B.o.B. on “Yonkers.” “I just hate the f*cking song. Yeah, the airplane song. I’m just gonna keep it a hundred. It’s not a beef or anything, it’s whatever. [Bruno Mars?] Oh dude, I hate that guy. Have you seen his face? You don’t want to hit him?” (Hot 97)
Earlier this month, Mars downplayed Tyler’s rhymes of wanting to stab him.
In his breakout song “Yonkers,” Tyler, the Creator, the madcap 20-year-old leader of Los Angeles rap collective Odd Future, threatens to “stab Bruno Mars in his g*ddamn esophagus.” Well, take a number, Tyler: In an exclusive interview with SPIN, the Hawaiian pop crooner responded to the dis for the first time ever: “[Tyler] has to wait in line if he wants to stab me,” he said. “[Tyler’s] definitely not the first guy that’s said something like that to me and he’s not going to be the last.” (SPIN)
In addition to Mars, Tyler also takes shots at rapper B.o.B. on his “Yonkers” record.
“What you think of Hayley Williams?/ F— her, Wolf Haley robbing ‘em,” Tyler raps on the song. “I’ll crash that f—ing airplane that that f—-t n—a B.o.B is in/ And stab Bruno Mars in his godd*mn esophagus.” (“Yonkers”)
B.o.B. later defended his image and fired back at Tyler with “No Future.”
Not everyone is an Odd Future fan. Rapper B.o.B. released a diss track Friday morning (Mar. 25) taking aim at the Los Angelesrap collective, on which the Atlanta rapper seethes, “Keep f**kin’ with me you ain’t gon have no future.” “You see the sh*t I gotta deal with from these beginners?” B.o.B. asks on the beginning of “No Future.” He closes out the track with, “Body blow, upper cut, I do more than bruise ya/Keep f*ckin with me you ain’t gon have no future.” (Billboard)
