While initial speculation suggested he was arrested, Tyler said he was temporarily held for disturbing the peace while promoting his new Goblin album.

“And F*ck Those Cops. Had Us In Cuffs For No Reason, Didn’t Do Sh*t. “Disturbing The Peace, Loitering And Skating Pass A Cop” What The F*ck?,” he tweeted Wednesday (May 11).

Following his Tweets, speculation on whether or not he was actually arrested developed.

Tyler, the Creator’s marketing tactics have apparently drawn the attention of law enforcement. Based on Tweets and photos posted on his Twitter account, it seems that the 20-year-old Odd Future rapper/producer had a run-in with the law on Tuesday (May 10) while promoting his new album, Goblin, outside of Westchester High School in Los Angeles. After his supposed run-in with the law, Tyler managed to make it to his show in West Hollywood, where he tweeted about the lack of females. When reached for comment the Pacific Division station told XXLMag.com that they had no record of any arrest on file. (XXL Mag)

Yesterday, Tyler vowed to never respect the police following his alleged arrest.

“F*CK COPS,” he tweeted May 10th. “F*CK POLICE F*CK YOU ALL I HOPE YOU ALL DIE. I WILL NEVER RESPECT YOU. PIGS I Can Not Wait To Perform F*CK THA POLICE Tonight.”

“F*CK A COP. I Have A Great Lawyer. Actually. No. I Dropped GOBLINE Today, I’m Not Gonna Let That Sh*t F*ck My Day Up.”

“I Swear To Atheist God Tho, F*CK COPS. I’m Moshing Tonight. F*ck Cops Fu*ck Cops #GOBLIN” (Tyler the Creator’s Twitter)

Outside of his own album release, Goblin, Tyler and Odd Future inked a record deal with RED Distribtuion/Sony a couple weeks ago.

“It’s based on getting the distribution deal we’ve always envisioned that allows the group to ‘sign themselves’ to their own company and keep their masters,” manager Chris Clancy said in a statement. “They will have 100% creative control of all aspects of their music, art, and release schedule with no 3rd party participation in outside business. Freedom and ownership was the whole point. Red and Sony know that its in everyone’s best interest to maintain the group’s authenticity and control. They built it, they deserve it. There’s no cheesy hooks or fluorescent liquor product placements in the works.. It’s about to be fun.. and different.. ” (Rap Radar)
