Young Money's Tyga is not taking any days off and is reportedly gearing up to release his follow-up to this year's Hotel California, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, in 2014.
This week, the West Coast rap star discussed what fans could expect from his newest offering.
Tyga released his sophomore album Hotel California in April this year but he’s already recording his next one, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty. The YMCMB rapper’s third album is due in stores in Spring of 2014 and yesterday, he stopped by Power 106 to premiere the first single ‘Wait for A Minute’ featuring Justin Bieber (listen here). He also told this to the radio station: “It’s gonna be more kinda how like Careless World, my first album, was… It’s way less commercial. I felt like Hotel California was more commercial and I made more radio-type records. This album is straight rap.” (HHNM)
Back in April, Tyga’s latest solo effort managed to snag a Top 10 debut.
Tyga’s Hotel California is taking residency on the charts this week. The third album from the Young Money rapper opens at No. 7. The project sold 54,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The sales are slightly below last year’s Careless World: Rise of the Last King, which bowed at No. 4 with 61,000. The same month, the Young Money stud revealed how things all started between him and video vixen Blac Chyna.
“I met her at the strip club,” Tyga added, when asked how he hooked up with Chyna. “When I first met her, it was hard to see her. I was on the road — I think we had a party over there at [King of Diamonds strip club] and she gave me her number.” (“The Breakfast Club”)
Reports of the couple welcoming in a baby together heated up the ‘net last year.
It’s time to break out the cigars and congratulate Tyga on his newest title: father. The YMCMB artist and his girlfriend, Blac Chyna, welcomed their first child, King Cairo Stevenson, on Tuesday (October 16). The 22-year-old rapper (born Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson) tweeted out a photo of him cradling the newborn in his arms to his followers with the simple caption: “Most Amazing feeling ever #Blessed #2Kings @KingCairo.” Chyna tweeted that she carried the bundle of joy for 40 weeks and that he weighed in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce: “Welcome King Cairo Stevenson 7lbs 1 oz ……. #blessed !!!!” (MTV)
