The list of features on the fast-spitting rapper’s new album reads like a who’s who in hip-hop today.

“I didn’t mean to go that hard,” he told SOHH. “It just started happening once I started doing tracks with some of my favorite artists. We got Akon on the album for sure. We got Static Major on the album. We got Kanye West. I got R. Kelly on the album, that’s the hometown homie. There’s a few more, Lil’ Boosie, Gucci Mane.” (SOHH)

Twista tracked down Yeezy for a song on the project called “Alright.”

“That man is like very busy,” he added. “You have to put a little effort into getting in touch with him sometimes. But the fact that we got mutual respect and know each other I’m able to get in touch with him. I already knew him from Chicago. Back in the days when he used to do production at home with his Mom. I used to go through the house sometime. We would fall through his house every once in a while and pick a few beats out. He’s always been real creative and different with the music.”

The last time Twista collaborated with Ye, it was alongside Jamie Foxx for their smash single “Slow Jamz.” While Foxx didn’t make it on Twista’s album, he expressed his admiration for the singer’s “Blame It” hit.

“I think it’s off chain,” he said. “When you take T-Pain and mix him with what Jamie can do, that’s the type of sh*t you can get. The very first time heard it I loved it. That’s one of those instances where if you a artist and you competing and you see somebody come with a jam you’re like ‘daaamn!’ I got nothing to say about that song. It’s one of the best songs every made.”

Category F5 will be released on Tuesday, June 16th.

After spending over a decade with Atlantic Records, Twista has found a new home at EMI/Capitol. Category F5 marks the Chicago rapper’s first solo release under his new Get Money Gang Entertainment imprint as well. The first single, “Wetter (Get It Wet Pt. 2),” is a sequel to one of his earlier hits, “Get It Wet,” and shares that song’s same sensual laid back qualities. (Prefix Mag)
