Hot Boys’ Turk has released a self-recorded open video message directed at his Cash Money Records family to the masses in light of the tragic passing of his father last week.
In the video clip, Turk publicly reveals trying to get a hold of Young Money’s Lil Wayne, Birdman, Slim Williams and ex-Cash Money artist Mannie Fresh but receiving no responses.
“I just want to make this real quick,” Turk said in a video. “Baby, Slim, Wayne, Mannie Fresh, all you n*ggas who claim y’all my homeboys, claim y’all f*ck with me, you know what I’m saying? I’ve been reaching out to y’all n*ggas and ain’t nobody respond. My daddy got killed, y’all look at the news, y’all see what’s going on — I just want y’all to know it ain’t no love lost. I’m still gonna be real. I can’t make a n*gga be real but it is what it is. Y’all showed me on too many occasions but right now this the last straw. It’s all good – y’all keep doing what y’all doing, I’ma do what I do. Me and my family gonna get through this together with my fans. I appreciate everybody that is there for me and whoever not, who say they gonna be, it is what it is. Time reveal every man. I learned that throughout the years and that’s what I’m still surviving.” (Turk MrYnt)
Turk personally reached out to SOHH to discuss his father’s passing last week.
“Words could never explain the loss of a father,” Turk told SOHH via an exclusive statement. “My Daddy was crazy about me since the day I was born. We had a great relationship. People would say, ‘Man, you look just like Turk,’ and he would say, ‘No, Turk look like me.’ We have the same name, ‘Tab Virgil’ and when I told him that I named my twin sons after us he said, ‘Ooooool ooh.’ [He] was always kind hearted to kids. I’m going to miss my dog. Rest in peace.” (SOHH)
The New Orleans rapper broke the news of his father’s passing early Wednesday (October 30).

Over the summer, Turk spoke to SOHH about a long-awaited Cash Money Records reunion.
“It’s official, we all about to do something real big,” Turk promised SOHH when asked about the original Cash Money Records family coming back together. “It’s Hot Boys sh*t. That’s all I’m gonna say right now. You heard me? [laughs] Like I’ve been saying from the beginning, we’ve never had no beef. It’s just been a misunderstanding like any other family would have. The bloggers weren’t hearing that. We didn’t do it for the bloggers, we did it because that’s just how it is. We rock with each other. It’s all love, everybody was just doing their own thing but now it’s time to bring it all together and make something so epic that it ain’t ever going to be touched or matched again. Remember it’s free B.G.!” (SOHH)
In August, Cash Money boss Birdman, former Big Tymer member Mannie Fresh, plus a slew of other notable Cash Money artists including Turk came together for a tribute-based BMI Awards ceremony.
Past and present Cash Money Records stars reunited in celebration of label founders Brian “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams at this year’s Broadcast Music, Inc.’s R&B/Hip-Hop Awards held in New York City’s Manhattan Center Thursday (Aug. 22). Ray J split hosting duties with BMI President and CEO Del Bryant and Vice President Catherine Brewton while Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Turk, Mack Maine and Mannie Fresh were all on hand to salute Birdman and Slim’s coveted BMI Icon honor, spotlighting their “unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers.” (BET)
