Nearly twenty years since the passing of the late Tupac Shakur, more archival material continues to land online with VH1 teasing fans with a new "Yo! MTV Raps" show meltdown clip.

In the footage, slated to premiere on VH1’s upcoming “Rock Docs – Yo: The Story of Yo! MTV Raps” special, Pac gets at Menace II Society directors Allen and Albert Hughes.

There’s one thing in particular I always respected about Tupac Shakur: his honesty. Whether spitting rhymes of harsh reality or penning poetry, ‘Pac was not one to hold his tongue. But although it was a charasteristic of his that was refreshing, it welcomed legal repercussions. Take his appearance on “Yo! MTV Raps” in 1993 for example. During his TV interview, which aired on July 16, 1993, 2Pac got riled up when Ed Lover touched on an altercation between the Hughes Brothers and ‘Pac which took place after they fired ‘Pac from their movie, “Menace II Society.” “They fired me but did it in a round about punk snitch way. So I caught them on the streets and whipped their behinds,” ‘Pac said on camera. “I was a menace to the Hughes Brothers and it ain’t over.” The Hughes Brothers used the show footage as evidence in an assault case against Tupac. ‘Pac ultimately spent 15 days in jail for the attack. In addition to the late rap mogul, VH1 will also highlight various hip-hop moments with Fab 5 Freddy and Ed Lover.

Yo: The Story of Yo! MTV Raps will premiere on VH1 on June 7 at 10 PM. Along with Tupac’s ’93 appearance on the show, the documentary will feature interviews with hosts Fab 5 Freddy, Ed Lover and Doctor Dre. The Roots’ Questlove, Big Boi and Rakim will also appear. (Prefix Mag)

Known for showcasing rap-related specials, VH1 recently aired a special “Behind The Music” on Pac’s late hip-hop nemesis, the Notorious B.I.G.

The documentary, which is a “remastered” version of the original 2001 profile, follows the childhood, the early hustle on the streets, the rise to fame and the events which surrounded the untimely death of Christopher Wallace, but also adds input from retired LAPD detective Greg Kading, who claims to know exactly who killed the rapper on that fateful evening on March 9th, 1997, and who arranged the murder. Kading, who was assigned to the second investigation of Biggie’s murder in 2006, claims to have received a confession from Theresa Swann (alias), the girlfriend and mother of one of Suge Knight’s children, which reveals Suge arranged the killing through an L.A. gang member named “Poochie”. Kading was removed from the case in 2009 due to an unrelated ethics violation – until subsequently being cleared of all charges – and claims that the LAPD did not follow the leads he made – much like former LAPD detective Greg Poole professed a decade ago. Pac’s name has stayed in the headlines over the past few months after rap veterans Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg put together a holographic version of him at last month’s Coachella concert.

Representatives for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg plan to discuss logistics for a tour involving the two performers and the virtual Tupac, according to a person familiar with the discussions. One option would be a tour in stadiums, involving other hip-hop stars, including Eminem, 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa. Alternately, they could stage a more limited tour, featuring only Dre, Snoop Dogg and the virtual Tupac, in smaller arenas. (Wall Street Journal)
