Miami rapper Trina and video vixen Toccara Jones have stepped forward to speak out against New York hip-hop artist A$AP Rocky in relation to recent comments he made about dark-skinned women wearing red lipstick.
In Jones’ perspective, Rocky’s comments display clear proof of his own insecurities.
A$AP Rocky must love white chicks, ’cause he pissed off Black women everywhere — including model Toccara Jones and rapper Trina — by saying dark-skinned girls have no biz wearing red lipstick. Jones — a Season 3 vet of “America’s Next Top Model” — tells us, “His comments show he has self-hate. Doesn’t he love himself? How do you make a comment like that when you’re brown yourself?” Trina agrees … saying A$AP doesn’t know what he’s talking about, because she’s seen women of all shades “look beautiful in red lip wear.” (TMZ)
Known for Twitter attacks, fellow Harlem rapper Azealia Banks lived up to her own hype by going after Rocky Wednesday (April 10) over the comments.
“Lol @ asap rockys lipstick advice.,” she tweeted April 10th.
“Some people should just come out of the closet.”
“So rocky takes a direct blow to my image about dark skin and purple lipstick, then as soon as I’m a offended …. I’m the bad guy.”
“Typical day in the life of AB.”
“That comment was so hurtful. Like hurtful beyond measure. Coming from him especially……”

“Especially since rocky stole my hair style from the 212 video ….. “

Recently, the New York rapper stirred up tensions when he offered some beauty advice for women.
“But for real, for me, I feel like with the red lipstick thing it all depends on the pair of complexion. I’m just being for real. You have to be fair skinned to get away with that. Just like if you were to wear like–f*cking for instance, what do dark skin girls have that you know fair skinned girls cant do… Purple lipstick? Naw, that looks stupid on all girls! His comments sparked viral outrage as various people took to the blogosphere to speak out against him.
Oh ASAP, you should just stick to rapping. You clearly know nothing about perfecting a bold and beautiful lip. While there isn’t one universally flattering red, there are definitely enough shades out there to find the right one for every skin tone. And last time we checked ASAP’s fellow Harlem-native rapper Azealia Banks, who has a lovely dark chocolate complexion, is making a pretty penny off her purple-hued pout. (Huffington Post)
