Tony Yayo Straps Up For “S.W.A.T.” Movie, “It Feels Good To Play The Bad Guy”

G-Unit’s Tony Yayo will try his hand at acting with a role in the forthcoming action movie, S.W.A.T.: Fire Fight.

Details on the film have been released on the Internet.

The movie centers around a Los Angeles SWAT officer who is sent to train the Detroit SWAT team with new anti-terrorism techniques. As Lt. Paul Cutler attempt to train the new team he locks horns with his new captain, while encountering resistance from the team he is training. Enter Tony Yayo. A source confirmed with AllHipHop.com that the G-Unit member would be “taking hostages.” His character is named “Carlos,” in the movie, which also stars Robert Patrick, Giancarlo Esposito, Kim Byers and others. Yayo has also confirmed his role in the upcoming movie.

“[This] is a real big, big look,” he said in an interview. “It’s a big movie. It’s gonna be crazy.” Yayo is currently shooting in Detroit, playing a villainous character named Carlos, where he will perform his own stunts. “I can’t tell you everything, but I can tell you I’m definitely one of the bad guys,” he shared. “I fit the part…It feels good to play the bad guy. And it’s definitely gonna be me against the police.” (XXL Mag)

Earlier this year, the rapper talked about beginning a movie career.

“And I’m looking to get into one of those movies, shouts-out 50, put me in one of those movies man! You cut my part in [Before I] Self Destruct, it’s cool…I haven’t had an album in five years, and financially, it’s nothing to complain about…[50] gives us the opportunity to go out and get money, a lot of n*ggas don’t have that. Like, when you see the situations like Jay-Z and [Beanie] Sigel — or Fat Joe and Remy Ma, I remember Remy used to complain, ‘Yo, this n*gga’s giving me a thousand dollars,’ what kind of sh*t is that?” (Vlad TV)

Yayo has also pointed out the financial advantages of the movie business.

“The state of hip-hop and music ain’t selling,” Yayo told DJ Vlad. “The zone 50’s in with Cheetah Vision Productions, you know, doing big things in Hollywood, has spots in Hollywood, LA, I mean, that movie money is just a whole different ‘nother monster…For 50, one of his talents is knowing what’s popping ahead of time, like what’s next. I think independent film making, you can be a millionaire, acting you can be a millionaire…He’s getting into all that stuff, because the money is crazy. I just try to learn off of him.” (Vlad TV)

No further details have been released as of now.
