G-Unit's Tony Yayo may be waiting for a full-fledged reunion between 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks like the rest of us but he has let his haters know the New York rap crew made history.

The “Talk of New York” hopped onto his Twitter page over the weekend and boasted about the lanes his Unit paved.

“Gunit set trends in the game I careless what hater say everybody not going like you f*ck em.,” Yayo tweeted April 7th. (Tony Yayo’s Twitter)

Yayo’s comment came shortly before Lloyd Banks dropped his new “Picture This” record.

One of my knocks against Lloyd Banks was that he stuck to the monotone delivery and never switched it up. Well, “Picture This” might be a breakthrough of sorts. The track’s a little lovey-dovey, sort of like Lloyd Banks getting his LL on, but at least he switches his voice up a bit and matches the bouncy production by Hero Beats. The light at the end of the tunnel may finally become clearly when Failure’s No Option drops. (Smoking Section)

Back in January, G-Unit general 50 Cent and Tony Yayo were spotted performing together in Puerto Rico.

50 Cent and his G-Unit compadres return today with something new for our viewing pleasures. The fellas recently took a trip down to Puerto Rico for an impromptu, surprise performance in the island nation. Before the fellas hit the stage they allow us to ride shotgun as they ride around the island checking out hot spots, females, and more. Before you know it, 50, Yayo, and the rest of the Unit hit the stage to give the PR fans exactly what they wanted, a dope show packed full of many of their hits. (Stupid Dope)

Recently, 50 Cent talked about the likelihood of a G-Unit reunion going down.

“The original G-Unit, maybe. We might do something. I’ll be honest with you. Some of these new artists on the label I don’t think are working as hard as they could. I don’t know how hard they want to work or how much they want it. I could see the original coming back together though.” (ESPN)
