After reportedly putting together Shock Value 3 these past few years, Timbo is rethinking his next album.

Timbaland had been been working on his new album Shock Value 3 for a couple of years. But the super producer is switching up the plans as he has now scrapped the entire project and re-recording it with a new title to go along — Rebirth. He actually announced this a couple of months ago on the HangWith app but it missed our radar. Timbaland has had huge success in recent months, thanks to the release of Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z‘s new albums. And something tells me, he will go for a more Hip-Hop than Pop sound on this one, unlike his last two efforts — Shock Value and Shock Value 2. (HHNM)

A couple nights ago, Timbo treated fans to new music from Young Money’s Drake and close rap pal Jay Z.

A few lucky fans in Birmingham, England had the opportunity to hear of preview of yet another new song between Drake and Jay Z. Producer Timbaland, whose currently on tour with the Brooklyn rapper for his Magna Carter World Tour played a clip of the exclusive song for fans at the NIA Arena on Wednesday night. The song is more uptempo than the duo’s latest collaboration, “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2” off Drake’s latest album, “Nothing Was The Same.” Jay and Drake previously worked together on songs like, “Off That” and “Light Up.” (Enstarz)

Around his ’09 release, Tim offered a take on how hip-hop had evolved into delivering more pop-sounding tracks.

“I was done with hip-hop a long time ago,” he said in an interview. “Once my generation left, I left. I do it, but there’s nobody from my generation besides Jay-Z who’s doing it. I look at Lil Wayne as being from my generation. Some people are still acceptable. Kanye [West] is acceptable from my generation. It’s just not the same. By it not being the same, I kind of fade to black. I did musicthat fits where I was going to in my age bracket. ‘What does Tim listen to in his car all the time?’ I love ’80s music. So how do I infuse ’80s with modern-day music? You Timbo the King, you gotta figure it out. I figured it out a couple of years ago with Nelly [Furtado] and Justin [Timberlake] and myself. We had a tremendous run. I think it was good for me to do it that, because some people would say ‘Tim is cold.’ The same people who smile in my face would be the same ones to talk behind my back. But I got this run, I’m not gonna stop until I wanna stop.” (MTV)

Tim recently made headlines after revealing he would join Jay Z’s overseas Magna Carter Holy Grail tour.

Timbaland has announced that he will be joining Jay Z on tour in the UK next month. The rapper and producer will be a guest on the Magna Carter World Tour when it comes to Europe. The pair have become friends again after falling out at the end of The Blueprint 3 album. “A couple of songs were getting leaked that were his songs and that whole thing just ruined the process,” said Jay Z. “Everyone has to put egos aside for the sake of the project and he wasn’t accepting of that and that was almost like the last straw. “When he came back, I saw a new Timbaland. He has this maturity and this growth and I was like, ‘Oh OK, this is going to work out’,” he added. (BBC UK)
