Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul reportedly found himself in handcuffs last night (October 14) after New York City police discovered he had an illegal weapon with him.
Reports of the unexpected bust hit the Internet early Monday morning.
Three 6 Mafia rapper DJ Paul was arrested in NYC last night for possession of a weapon … after cops say the Academy Award winner was illegally packin’ a taser. According to reports, Paul was carrying an open beer out of a restaurant when he passed a couple of officers. When officers confronted Paul about the open container, he reportedly told the cops he had a taser on his person. (TMZ)
Following his arrest, Paul got booked and placed into a local lock-up.
Cops confiscated the weapon and placed Paul under arrested for open container and misdemeanor possession of a weapon. He was transported to a nearby station where he was booked and placed behind bars. Paul is slated to face a judge this morning. (TMZ)
One of the music producer/rapper’s last tweets dates back to roughly 9 PM EST Sunday night.

Last spring, Paul chopped it up with SOHH and openly co-signed affiliate rap newcomer Kokoe.
“The relationship started mainly from us having out through some mutual friends,” Paul told SOHH. “I met Kokoe out in the streets of Los Angeles. We were talking about hooking up but never got a chance. … We got spots in Memphis and Los Angeles. I’ve been in Los Angeles a lot, not scouting for talent or nothing like that but trying to take advantage of what they got to offer. There’s a lot of sh*t in L.A. that’s not out in Memphis. Especially with us having the Oscar in our hands, we can just fit in there real easily. It’s just work, man, another place to work at. I’ve worked in Memphis for twenty years and I had to move on and make money on the other side as well.” (SOHH)
