Less than 24 hours after rap star Kanye West announced his bid for the presidency in 2020, a Maryland Republican has rallied behind Yeezus.

According to reports, a Maryland activist has started up the “Ready for Kanye” committee.

The night after West claimed at MTV’s Video Music Awards that he’s running for president in 2020, the “Ready for Kanye” committee — which, in theory, would allow the group to raise money for an effort to draft the rapper into the presidential race — was filed with the Federal Election Commission. The committee was started by Eugene Craig III, a Maryland conservative activist. And it’s possible he’s just trolling West. (WISN)

According to reports, a 24-year-old recent graduate registered “KanyeforPresident.com” and has already received five-figure offers this week.

Tramall Ferguson registered “KanyeForPresident.com” back in April on a whim … thinking maybe one day Yeezy would make it in the oval office. After Kanye’s announcement at the MTV VMAs … Tramal’s phone is blowing up with huge offers to own the domain … upwards of $80k. Tramal says he’s holding out … waiting for Kanye to call. He wouldn’t say how much he’d charge, but he was clear … Kanye’s not getting it for free. (TMZ)

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest spoke out on Kanye West’s announcement this week.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest says of the announcement that he looks “forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat.” Earnest was traveling aboard Air Force One with the president to Alaska. (Billboard)

West’s in-laws Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian both boasted about Ye running for the presidency on social media Sunday (August 30).
