‘The Wire’ Star Snoop Arrested In Massive Drug Raid

The Wire actress/rapper Felicia “Snoop” Pearson was reportedly arrested late last night (March 9) during a massive Baltimore drug raid.

Details on what went down emerged online Thursday (March 10).

Police in Baltimore say an actress who appeared on the HBO series “The Wire” is among about 30 people arrested in an early morning drug raid. Police say Felicia “Snoop” Pearson, who played a killer of the same name on the hit television series, is one of those arrested, but declined to say what charges she faces. Additional reporting claims the drug raid was part of a five-month investigation.

Felicia “Snoop” Pearson of “The Wire” was arrested Thursday morning at her downtown Baltimore apartment, allegedly in connection with a large-scale heroin and marijuana ring. A five-month investigation led to raids in west and east Baltimore yielding more than 60 suspects believed to be linked to the crime operation, the Baltimore Sun reported. Pearson was arrested on a state warrant, though local and federal authorities were also involved in the raids. (Los Angeles Times)

Prior to launching a television career, Snoop spent time behind bars.

In her 2007 memoir, “Grace After Midnight,” Pearson — now 30 — wrote of being born to a drug-addicted mother and then selling drugs herself. At 14, she killed another teenager and served time in Jessup State Penitentiary for murder, the memoir says. After her release from prison, she met an actor from “The Wire” cast in a club and joined the show until it ended in 2008. (CNN)

In 2009, Snoop talked to SOHH about launching her very own reality show.

“I have a reality show that I’ve been pitching so that’s on the up and up. [It’s about] my day to day life, trying to get something poppin’, something generating. Reality is supposed to be real and mines will be real as they get. I ain’t doing nothing wrong or nothin’ so [the cameras] can follow me.” (SOHH)
