Lamar is slated to perform in Washington, DC later this month.
Kendrick Lamar has announced a special, one-off performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. with the National Symphony Orchestra. On October 20, Lamar and the NSO will perform cuts from his album To Pimp a Butterfly; it’ll be the rapper’s first orchestral collaboration, as the Washington Post reports. (Pitchfork)
Last month, Kendrick teamed up with funk icon George Clinton for a new song.
Earlier this year, master of funk George Clinton joined Kendrick Lamar on the first track of his sophomore album, To Pimp A Butterfly, for a duet that set the project’s eclectic tone. The pair aren’t done collaborating yet, though — Clinton’s Funkadelic just released a set of remixes for their single “Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard On You?”, and one features none other than Mr. Lamar himself.
