New York rapper Talib Kweli is set to release his first-ever live concert DVD "Live at the Shrine" next week.
Joined on-stage by a lyrical cast including KRS-ONE, Strong Arm Steady and soul singer Res, the Brooklyn emcee offers fans an opportunity to experience the energy and emotion he delivers from his performances.
“The crowd forms the ceremony. We’re the masters of the ceremony,” Kweli says in the film’s trailer. “And it’s just a beautiful feeling, man, that transition, the energy, from them to us, us to them. It can’t be contained. It can’t be described. It can only be felt.”
Featuring 17 of his most popular songs including “The Blast,” “Listen” and “Get By” the DVD also features bonus behind the scenes material, a full-uncut rehearsal, plus interviews from both KRS and Kwe.
“Live at the Shrine” lands in stores on Tuesday, September 30.
In related news, Talib recently performed alongside Solange and Nikki Jean earlier this month at a “Rock the Vote” concert in Philadelphia.
Aiming to encourage more young people to take the initiative and register to vote for the upcoming presidential election, the national campaign chose the Community College of Philadelphia for the event.
