Little Brother and B.O.B. have been added to this year’s annual Hip Hop Live! tour starring Talib Kweli and David Banner.
Beginning this month, the tour will make appearances throughout the country performing at venues in major cities including Washington, DC, Boston, New York, Ft. Lauderdale and other spots. The mesh of regional rappers will also perform with soulful musicians The Rhythm Roots All-Stars.
Little Brother will join the tour this evening in Minneapolis, Minnesota while Atlanta’s B.O.B. is currently scheduled to appear at the event’s October 18th showcase.
Sponsored by SONY, fans will also be introduced to the company’s latest creations currently available in retail stores while automatically being entered for a chance to receive a free pair headphones with every purchased ticket.
Known for bringing in well-known artists like last year’s headliners consisting of Wu-Tang Clan‘s Ghostface Killah, Rakim and Brother Ali, the highly-anticipated tour will run until the end of October.
The Hip Hop Live! 2008 tour officially kicked off September 28 and will end on Saturday, October 25th at New York’s Nokia Theatre.
In related news, Talib recently released his first-ever live concert DVD “Live at the Shrine” giving fans an opportunity to experience the energy and emotion he delivers from his performances.
“The crowd forms the ceremony. We’re the musicians of the ceremony,” Kweli says in the film’s trailer. “And it’s just a beautiful feeling, man, that transition, the energy, from them to us, us to them. It can’t be contained. It can’t be described. It can only be felt.
Joined on-stage by a lyrical cast including KRS-ONE, Strong Arm Steady and soul singer Res, the Brooklyn-bred emcee delivers 17 of his hits songs including “The Blast” and “Get By.”
