Hustle Gang leader T.I. has hit up SOHH to discuss teaming up with Jay Z‘s growing TIDAL platform for his new “Money Talks Education” launch.

Tip said TIDAL green lighting positive projects like his newly launched education initiative cemented his decision to join the entertainment platform earlier this year.

“It was a collaborative effort ever since we came together upon our consideration in partnering with TIDAL for us to assist each other. I felt that was very important. We just already knew what the intent was to do things that we had like minds about. One of those things is inspiring entrepreneurial initiatives in the community and promoting education. It’s really all about finding the things that are direct associations with the TIDAL brand and my brand and things that we all feel the same about. I think this was the most valiant opportunity to do so. It’s the first of many.” (SOHH)

The “King of the South” launched his new TIDAL education challenge earlier this month.

From May 4 to June 15, students and communities will have the opportunity to submit proposals detailing their plans to promote education awareness within their communities through on and offline fundraising efforts. Those looking to support the fundraiser(s) of their choice will have chance to do so between now and June 15 by donating via CrowdRise, which is also where participants can submit their proposals. On June 15, TIDAL will announcing the 5 finalists who have raised the most funding for their initiative. (ESSENCE)

Tip recently talked about possibly releasing his upcoming The Dime Trap album outside of TIDAL.

“There will be some exclusive components, but just because all of my, this is an album that’s dedicated to my core fans,” he says. “The people who went out there the first week Trap Muzik came out, so I’m basically dedicating this album to them and making the music that I know they want to hear me make. So I know those people all of them can’t necessarily afford TIDAL. So we will have some exclusive content and exclusive components. I don’t know if the entire album will be exclusive.” (“The Ed Lover Show”)

Earlier this year, the “King of the South” dished on joining rap mogul Jay Z’s TIDAL streaming service as an owner.

“TIDAL is trying to put the power and ownership and equity of the art back in the hands of the people who cultivate the artistry. That is what’s important. It’s the only black-owned streaming service and it pays more. When artists get their song played on Spotify or Apple Music or anywhere else, it pays more, offers more back to the artists. As a platform, it’s a multimedia platform.” (Shade 45 Streetz Is Watchin)
