With the recent buzz over T-Pain allegedly joining Lil Wayne's Young Money dying down, SOHH reached out to Cash Money Records' frequent music video director David Rousseau for his thoughts.

Having recently shot Pain’s “Electroman” and Wayne’s “I’m Not A Human Being” music videos, Rousseau admitted that although he hasn’t heard of the deal’s confirmation, he believes the alleged partnership is logical.

“I mean, he’s always been tight with Young Money and Wayne and [DJ] Khaled and everybody,” Rousseau told SOHH referring to Pain. “So it would make sense it’d happen but personally, I’m not sure [if he’s signed to Young Money.] But it would make sense. Wayne and Young Money is an empire. It’s growing and growing and growing. So it would make sense. Right now they have the rap game on lock. So, would it be surprising? Nah.” (SOHH)

Based on recent footage from Wayne’s personal jeweler, Pain’s induction chain had purple and black rubies forming the Young Money logo.

“This is the new Nappy Boy/Young Money piece,” Young Money jeweler Gabrielle revealed in a video with DJ Vlad. “This is the first exclusive right here. T-Pain is about to sign to Young Money. He better, after doing this. So you see it’s all blacked out. It’s all natural, red rubies, black diamonds. We gotta put a red ruby necklace on this thing — We started this whole thing. It doesn’t mean you have to get black diamonds — [Here’s] the Nappy Boy logo right there…On the back, I’m going to do Pain’s progress to Young Money. It’s like a portrait that I can laser inscribe to the jewelry. It’s gonna be sick.” (Vlad TV)

Last year, Pain recruited Wayne to appear on his Cartoon Network animated special, “Freaknik”.

Julia Beverly from Ozone Magazine recently wrote about T-Pain’s Christmas Party that took place on December 23rd. She mentioned that “Some Cartoon Network/Adult Swim execs came through to display clips from Pain’s upcoming cartoon special “Freaknik,” which airs on March 21st. In it, Lil Wayne provides the voice for character Jesus Christ and performs a music video for “Ghetto Commandments.” Several other rappers are featured on the cartoon.” (New Lil Wayne)

Wayne and Pain were reportedly aiming to drop a collaborative project together last year.

“The T-Wayne album, we’re actually gonna wait until he gets out,” Pain said in a March 2010 interview referring to Wayne’s one-year jail sentence on a gun charge. “He has so much going on. He has Rebirth out right now. I don’t wanna interrupt that. We just gonna wait until he gets out to really get in on that. We recorded a bunch of songs. But, right now, it’s time for him and his personal sh–. We definitely got an album’s worth of material, but it’s only an album’s worth. It’s nothing to pick from. We just got an album. We can put out whatever we feel like and say, ‘Hey, this is T-Wayne’s album,’ or we can actually try to make it good. Like we’re actually trying to make an album and say, ‘This is the good T-Wayne album.’ Rather than just record 12 songs and say, ‘Here you go, mutha—-as! I know you want it. You gonna buy it anyway, just ’cause you think it’s good.'” (MTV)
