Hitmaker T-Pain recently spoke on the status of his long-awaited collaboration album with Lil Wayne and promised its delivery despite the project's year-long delay.
Promising a dozen cuts have been created for the release, Pain addressed the project’s slow process.
Well, according to T-Pain, the duo have managed to knock out a solid block of tracks so far. That’s progress. “We got 12 songs right now,” Pain said in an interview. “We going slow, there’s no rush. It can come out whenever. We’re gonna keep it pushing, however. It’s gonna be pushed.” (MTV)
Cash Money Records co-founder Ron “Slim” Williams previously addressed the duo’s compilation album last summer.
“They’ve been speaking on it,” Slim said in an interview. “I wanted to get past Tha Carter III. Now we can sit down and get to the business of different collaborations. I just want to make sure that we have a good record.” (Billboard)
Aside from Pain, Wayne also has a Juelz Santana collaboration album set to drop later this year.
“The album is done,” Juelz told SOHH last fall. “It’s like the situation I had that stopped me from doing a lot of things before, was one of the same situations why the album ain’t come out. But the album is done. It’s not like we gotta go in and do a bunch of songs. We got about 35 records done so we just waiting for the politics and bullsh*t to get out the way and then we gonna put the album out.” (SOHH)
In addition to collabo albums, Weezy is also prepping the release of his delayed album The Rebirth.
There are only so many ways to report an album delay. In the case of Lil Wayne, that number currently stands at five. Weezy F. Baby’s foray into rock has been pushed back one month from June 23 to July 21, Rap-Up.com can report. The album has had numerous delays since its original April 7 release date. It is scheduled to feature Fall Out Boy and Kevin Rudolf. (Rap-Up)
