According to Tip, recent work alongside hitmaker Pharrell Williams has sparked fresh album motivation.

“Since we started working on the project and the project started has taken a different shape, I think we’re going to postpone that title,” T.I. said on Wednesday (December 11) when he appeared on “RapFix Live.” “We’re gonna rework that. I got a couple of things in mind.” “All I’ma say is, it’s gonna be a motion picture, it’s gonna be a theatrical-worthy title. Something that will definitely seem instant classic,” he said in a very assuring tone. “I’m thinking something like Trap Champion, Paperwork, but whatever it is the subtitle will be The Motion Picture.” (MTV)

The “King of the South” also promised his Trouble Man follow-up could still see the light of day.

T.I. hasn’t scrapped Trouble Man II altogether, he’s just ready to move in a different direction. “I still have that album, that album isn’t lost, I have that project as well. But the music that we began to create– Pharrell, myself–so many others that have contributed between the time of then and now that the project is just taking a new shape,” he said. (MTV)

A few days ago, Tip clarified his label situation and why Hustle Gang is still independent.

“Let me clarify,” Tip said in an interview. “Hustle Gang, we still independent. They’re just, we’re just here for the next T.I. project. Not to say that Hustle Gang is off the table because, you know, we felt like we had some partners at one time but I think since we made the move that we made for T.I’s project, I don’t know if those partners of ours is still at the table. That’s still up for discussion. But as of right now, Hustle Gang is still moving independently.” (Hood Rich Radio)

Recent reports revealed Tip decided to team up with Columbia for his next LP.

T.I. has announced that he and his Grand Hustle imprint have signed to Columbia Records. T.I. plans to release his upcoming ninth studio album, under Columbia Records, early in 2014. Tip has recruited Pharrell Williams, who was influential in his move to Columbia, to executive produce the LP, according to the label. Their collaboration comes after the success of Billboard’s song of the summer, Robin Thicke‘s, “Blurred Lines,” which features both Pharrell and T.I. (Billboard)
