Grammy-winning rapper T.I.'s new Paperwork solo album should have no problem landing on the sales chart next week with early estimates up to 70,000 copies.
Based on one-day estimates, the “King of the South’s” latest solo offering is expected to sell at least 65,000 units.
Just in time for Halloween, horror-rockers Slipknot will be at the front of the line for chart treats next week. Slipknot (Roadrunner) 100-110k
Neil Diamond (Capitol) 70-80k
Logic (Def Jam) 65-70k
T.I. (Grand Hustle/Columbia) 65-70k (HITS Daily Double)
Peep these details about Tip’s new album right here…
Tip relied on mega producer Pharrell Williams to oversee the LP.
For his first album post-“Blurred Lines,” T.I. has brought on that song’s mastermind, Pharrell Williams, as executive producer. Nothing seems off-limits here – an X-rated slow grind alongside Chris Brown, a post-Trayvon political rant with Public Enemy-ish lyrics, and two unlikely Williams concoctions that sound like robo-Vegas Curtis Mayfield. The Atlanta rap star pays tribute to slain Hustle Gang member Doe B on Paperwork.
With “On Doe, On Phil” and “Light ‘Em Up (RIP Doe B),” he comes at the topic from a third angle, honoring friends who have been lost to gun violence. It’s something he’s done before, on tracks like “Live in the Sky” and “Dead and Gone,” and, for as long as he’s living in the “Land of the Handgun,” something he’ll unfortunately probably have to do again. Not surprised by the low numbers. He didn’t have a bug single. Should’ve pushed his release date back.
Uh what? No Mediocre (#33) About the Money (#58)
Yeah but that shit aint exactly Live Your Life or Dead and Gone tho
Big Things Poppin’ was the anthem back in summer ’07.
damn… these are some incredibly low numbers for who ti is. I expected at least 100k
Get a fucking job
I know, especially with Jeezy pushing out 120k in the first week.
damn t.i it’s over bro
One by one these rappers are being eliminated from being able to sell big. The only old heads on the list are Jay, Kanye, Em and I guess Wayne(although he exploded in ’08 in terms of sales). T.I. was always somewhat on the fringe to me as far as being a big time seller but now he’s officially off of that list for good. I will wait for Game’s next album to see if he’s still got a lifeline but I think he’s done too.
Game’s golden chance to sell big will be the much hyped Documentary 2 cause we all know this last album was originally supposed to drop as a mixtape..
The snitch jacket hurt T.I.
Drake too
