T.I.’s “No Mercy” Projected To Sell 145K In First-Week Sales

Incarcerated rapper T.I.‘s new No Mercy solo album is reportedly en route to sell up to 145,000 albums in its first-week on stores shelves.

Based on one-day estimates, T.I.’s latest solo effort will debut in the Top 5 new releases.

T.I.’s new album, No Mercy, finds the imprisoned rapper scoring the top debut this week, with the Grand Hustle/Atlantic title looking at first-week sales in the 135-145k range. Daft Punk‘s Tron: Legacy soundtrack for Walt Disney could do a surprisingly robust total of 55-60k, while Gap Band member Charlie’s Wilson‘s Jive/JLG effort, Just Charlie, looks like it’s headed for a total of 50-55k. Following the album’s release yesterday, T.I. issued a public statement speaking on the project.

“So here it is…NO MERCY, the most honest and intimate installment of my life story as promised. Hope y’all enjoy it and it lives up to the very high standards I’ve set for myself or anyone who’s to be considered one of the best. I must admit it takes a lot to go through as much as I have and still keep the love in your heart and in your art. But at the end of the day, if that’s what it takes to produce the music that keeps the world of hip-hop evolving on it’s axis….Then even the lowest of the lows of my life was all worth it. Thanks again for your prayers, your time and attention. And remember….It doesn’t matter how long it’ll be before the next time you see me. What matters is that I’ll be a better man before that time comes. The longer I sit, the smarter I get.” (Trap Muzik)

T.I.’s new album features guest appearances from Drake, Eminem, Scarface and Kanye West.

1 Welcome To The World (feat. Kanye West & Kid Cudi) 2 How Life Changed (feat. Mitchelle’l & Scarface) 3 Get Back Up (feat. Chris Brown) 4 I Can’t Help It (feat. Rocko) 5 That’s All She Wrote (feat. Despite currently being behind bars serving an 11-month sentence, T.I. released a statement on the album last month.

“This album represents some of my best work inspired by my most recent best and worst life experiences,” stated an introspective Tip. “They say adversity brings forth inspiration so y’all can imagine how inspired I’ve been during the recording process for this album. I’ve been taking stock of myself and digesting eveyone’s comments and criticisms. Now it’s my turn to express myself and take you into my mind. The real won’t hate and the truth won’t wait! If God is with me who can be against me.” (Rap-Up)
