Incarcerated rapper T.I. speaks on his undying love for wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle-Harris and why nothing comes before her in life within the new issue of XXL Magazine.
From Tip’s perspective, he has found the perfect match in Tiny.
“Can’t say enough about how special of a woman I have. It takes a lot to endure the worst of times and still stay grounded during the best of times. She’s been able to do so for long as I can remember. For all that and more, I just adore her in every way. I love her spirit, her heart, her integrity and her loyalty. She’s the love of my life and the girl of my dreams. I’ve heard so much about it being hard for true love to exist in the fast lanes of Hollywood, when dudes can’t stay respectfully committed and chicks can’t stay out their man’s pockets. But somehow she makes it easy, and we never had those problems. Some women can’t keep up with their men and other can’t seem to slow theirs down. She’s shown that she can do both in grand fashion. A man like [me] couldn’t ask for a better match.” (XXL Magazine)
The rapper-turned-actor also said Tiny is the most important person in his life.
“When the world has turned on me and there is darkness all around, she finds a way to bring light in my life and provide positive energy in the face of some of the most extreme circumstances. As long as we have us, f*ck da world….nothing else really matters. I’d lay my life down for her and wouldn’t blink about it. In my eyes, she’s the most beautiful woman inside and out. I wouldn’t trade her for all the sun on the beach. As much as I’ve done wrong in life, I’m convinced that I must’ve done something right to deserve a woman as great as her. And I’ll forever do all I can to continue to show my undying love and appreciation.” (XXL Magazine)
Last month, Tiny revealed how her relationship with Tip began.
“T.I. always says I gave him such a hard time when we first met and I did…I stood him up a couple times. When I met him, I was kinda on hiatus, I’d broken from Xscape, but I had co-wrote the song ‘No Scrubs’ for TLC, so you know, I was living good and doing my thing. I met him in the mall, well, I had met him before in the studio. I was working with Jazzy Pha one time and he came in and I also had heard from a guy, KP, who signed him. He played some of his music for me one time and I was like, ‘he’s a hot artist, I like him’. Then I saw him in the mall and we conversed a little bit, and I had my daughter with me and somehow we exchanged numbers — He was calling me and calling me, wanting to come hook up and I’d be like, ‘Yeah, we gon…let’s hook up, such and such’ and then I wouldn’t answer thephone and he’d be like, ‘You know time after time.'” (VIBE)
After years of dating, the couple officially wed last summer.
TMZ has learned rapper T.I. got married earlier today (July 30) — in a secret ceremony at a Miami Beach courthouse. The 29-year-old superstar — real name Clifford Harris Jr. — swapped I Do’s with his longtime 35-year-old girlfriend Tameka “Tiny” Cottle. The two have reportedly been dating since 2001. (TMZ)
T.I. is currently serving an 11-month jail sentence for a drug possession conviction.
