Appearing on “The View” today (August 6), the “King of the South” briefly touched on Tiny and also delved into his Hollywood career.

He also brushed off rumors of “trouble in paradise” in his marriage. “Trouble is inevitable, but as long as the word paradise is still there,” he said. After he’s done with music, he plans to focus his efforts on acting full-time. “I have a number of albums in mind that I think I may have still to offer the industry and then I’ll pull back and apply my efforts and energy to other areas of entertainment.” (Rap-Up)

In an open letter, Tiny recently emphasized being much more than Tip’s side chick.

“I get it, especially with young people who might not know Xscape or who know T.I. and his music and see me as just his wife. But I’m not just his wife. I’m a singer. I have been for a long time. And it’s a very big part of who I am. I missed being in the studio at first. But with the OMG Girlz, I got a chance to write and produce, and that was how I stayed connected to music.” (VIBE)

The music veteran also addressed releasing a new song following T.I.’s “Stay” track.

“Will our music affect our real-life relationship? I really don’t know,” she says. “I mean if it does, I hope it’s in a good way. Hopefully, it works out in our favor in the end. All I know is that I’m working on it. We’re working on it.” (VIBE)

Although Tip kept the name-dropping out of his bars, he made ample references to their relationship on his “Stay” song last month.

“Man after everything we will never be the same/ Man I’m tired of tellin’ lies, know you sick of playin’ games/ I remember you got a tattoo, put my name on it,” the Atlanta native raps on the first verse of the soulful song, which features Victoria Monét. Later, the emotion continues to flow: “And you can’t say that I ain’t changed your whole life since we met that day/ And when we get it right, God bless that day/ But until then, shawty, I just pray.” (MTV)
