T.I. said he has been able to reap the benefits of helping his artist put out a quality debut, Adventures of Bobby Ray.

“I feel like right now, all the hard work is paying off,” Tip said about his Grand Hustle artist. “This is what everybody has been working for. This is [why] we go late nights in the studio, early mornings in the studio. This is the reason we miss days out of our children’s lives — for moments like these. For me not to sit here, reap the benefits and take the pleasure as well as taking the moment to bask in the glory of the success of what we have accomplished … It’s necessary, very necessary.” (MTV)

Recently, the 21-year-old newcomer imagined the possibility of never retiring from music.

“Ten years, maybe? I don’t know, I’d be limiting myself. Maybe by 40? I don’t know. You know what’s funny? I feel like I’ll be in the music industry for the rest of my life, like Quincy Jones. He’s not necessarily at the forefront of everything anymore, but he’s in it for the long haul. I could be in it even after I’m an artist. I love performing, I love playing music on the stage for people. So even if I got older, maybe I’d just start a band, and be a drummer in the band. I don’t know.” (Complex)

T.I. recently said he aspires to bow out successfully  from his rap career by the age of 40.

“I’m not going to be the 40-year-old rapper. I would not,” Tip told CNN in a recent interview. “That’s Jay-Z. He’s doing it very well. Hats off, but I just don’t see that for me.” Tip prefers to take the path of another super-successful rapper. “If I had the option to [be] Jay-Z [or] Will Smith, I think I’d go with Will,” he revealed. “I’m a Jay-Z fan. I have a lot of admiration and respect for Jay and his legacy. But I feel like Will, he gets to spend more time with his family. He gets to be home more and actually raise his kids. I feel like he has more of a home life…and the money don’t hurt. Twenty million dollars a flick ain’t bad.” (Rap-Up)

B.o.B.’s debut, Adventures of Bobby Ray, topped the sales chart last May.

As expected, fans of the XXL Freshman alum picked up 84,200 copies of his new disc over the last week, according to the Nielsen SoundScan. The rapper/multi-instrumentalist currently has both the No. 1 album and No. 1 song (“Nothin’ On You”) in the country. His second single, “Airplanes,” is currently working its way up the charts–landing at the No. 9 spot just last week. (XXL Mag)
